Powder, Power & POW Gloves
16.03.2018

If you think Snowparks, Funslopes and Funcross are only built with snow groomers and lots of machine power, you’re wrong: At the end of the day, our snow facilities are all manual work. The shapers and shaperesses of the Shape Academy give every obstacle its finishing touches with the shapetool and make sure that every obstacle is in perfect conditions. That means they are working with their hands in the mountains all winter long – even when the temperatures drop below zero. And that’s exactly where our partner POW steps into the game.

By now, spring temperatures are slowly arriving in all QParks, Funslopes and Funcross across the Alps and the first spring sessions are appearing on the horizon. Flashback to just a few weeks ago: Our shapecrews were shovelling massive amounts of snow out of the parks or reshaping the snow facilities at freezing temperatures. But just like snow conditions change – fluffy, knee-deep powder or slushy spring snow – temperatures change too. What doesn’t change? The employees of the Shape Academy following their passion for shaping in all weather conditions possible, keeping their hands warm with their POW Gloves.

The shapecrews are testing the gloves thoroughly throughout the season: Different temperatures, different snow conditions – but the same gloves. And at the end of the season the shapeability and shredability of the POW Gloves have gone through the ultimate test.

Just like QParks celebrates "15 Years For Freestyle" this winter, the POW Glove Company celebrates its 15-year anniversary too. Happy Birthday, POW & QParks! Besides this common ground, there’s one crucial difference: Whereas we have to start sculpting our snowparks from scratch in the beginning of winter, POW Gloves are “built to last” – and can return to the mountains after a long summer in the shaper-closet.
