Why? Because they worked on the contest line during the night, so the park didn’t have to be closed during the day. This means that our shape crew had to withstand some freezing January nights – without sun, but, luckily, with quality outerwear by NITRO, which held our girls and boys warm despite ghastly conditions.

Thanks to the warm clothes, the shapers were able to give it their all. They built a multi jib with stair set plus corresponding tube exclusively for the Blue Tomato Plan P. Altogether, park designer Pavel Stratil and his crew, consisting of one snowcat driver, six shapers and one head shaper, worked two days and one night on the contest setup. The result was one multi jib in the bottom line as well as two new kickers and a super nice cutting.

Another reason why the construction of the contest setup went that smoothly and fast was the new BISON X by PRINOTH. The new snowcat of the shape crew at Planai moved whole mountains of snow, which was eventually used to set up the obstacles. All the other work, however, had to be done by the guys and girls of the Shape Academy themselves using their muscle power, shovels and shape tools. In the end it was their relentless effort during the night which ensured that the park stayed open and didn’t have to be closed.
