Shape your career!
08.03.2024

Turning your hobby into a profession is undoubtedly the dream of many people embarking on or already navigating their professional lives. "Work and live where others vacation" is a well-known saying that becomes a reality for many individuals. The career ladder, and thus the various job opportunities at the Shape Academy, demonstrates that these two aspects can indeed be combined.

The Shape Academy is the world's largest talent forge for the construction and maintenance of freestyle and fun facilities made of snow. Over 130 facilities in five different countries are managed by the approximately 250 employees of the Shape Academy. Whether you're a beginner, career changer, or an experienced shaper – the Shape Academy offers diverse fields of activity and provides its employees with the opportunity for professional education and further development in the shape business! You can find out more about these opportunities here!

The career start

The career journey at Shape Academy usually begins as a Shaper or Fun Mountain employee. In this position, crew members are responsible for the hands-on care of projects, and their assignments depend on experience, skills, and the nature of the project. Anyone eager to contribute is welcome in this role!

For those seeking a bit more variety, the position of Multi Media Shaper is perfect! Enjoying work with social media and possessing special skills are essential to perfectly showcase the facilities. In the background, Multi Media Shapers are responsible for content creation and, in collaboration with the Office Crew, manage the social media channels of the facilities. Thus, Multi Media Shapers work both hands-on on the project and on presenting the facility to the public.

Who doesn't shy away from responsibility

For all true team players and genuine organizational talents, the role of Head Shaper is just right. Head Shapers lead their crews throughout the season and coordinate the team's daily activities on the mountain. This makes leadership skills indispensable, and they work closely with the park designers to ensure smooth operations.

Project Managers are primarily responsible for the safety and quality of the facility. They manage the facility and act as the interface between the Shape Academy, the client, and the facility's guests. Additionally, they are the first point of contact for the company's Technical Managers.

The leadership level

For those who have dreamed since childhood of operating large machinery, they have probably considered driving a snow groomer. However, prior experience is necessary because maneuvering these heavy machines in the often intricate facilities is anything but easy. In this position, a delicate touch and an eye for detail are crucial because they are the primary decision-makers and the operational heart of park construction. Working together with the Project Manager and Park Designer, they plan the facility and can bring their creativity to the forefront.

Those who are creative and see no limits in facility construction are well-placed in the position of Park Designer. Here, too, prior experience and extensive knowledge of park construction are required. The goal in this job is to create exciting and varied parks, ensuring that the snow parks live up to the label "QParks (Quality Parks).

Welcome to the premier league

Anyone who brings a lot of experience in facility construction is perfectly suited to the Shape Academy as a Construction Manager. They are true multitaskers, as they can introduce new crews to their tasks on-site and flexibly solve problems. They are specialists, particularly in the construction phase of the facilities, knowing and mastering everything.

Regional Managers are primarily the contact persons for the mountain railways and employees on-site. As the name suggests, individuals in this position are responsible for multiple projects, making their work diverse. During the ongoing season, project management is a core task in this position, as Regional Managers are responsible for ensuring that all processes run smoothly.

At the top of the career ladder are the Technical Managers. They coordinate the smooth operation of projects throughout the year and further develop them. This requires years of experience, as they supervise a variety of different projects. Whether existing projects or new facilities, they plan, design, and develop from start to finish.

With around 250 employees, the Shape Academy represents the largest professional shape crew in the world. The various positions prove that whether a newcomer to the shape business or an experienced park builder, everyone who brings enough passion and muscle power will find the right winter job here. If you want to be a part of it, choose your individual entry point on the career ladder, and we'll see you on the mountain!
